Time to prepare: less than 10 minutes
2 large kale leaves (thick stem and center removed)
1/2 cup spinach (approximately)
1/2 carrot (scraped or peeled) sliced
1/4 cup parsley (approximately)
1/2 apple (cored) sliced
1/2 orange (peeled)
2 strawberries (stem removed) sliced
1 banana (peeled) sliced
- almond milk (to about 1/2 inch below ingredients)
Directions: Place kale, spinach, carrot and parsley in blender. Press ingredients down slightly. Add apple, orange, strawberries and banana. Ingredients should be about two inches from top of blender (higher will cause overflow). Add almond milk to about 1/2 inch below ingredients. Blend at lowest speed for about one to two minutes, then gradually increase speeds available on blender, each for about one to two minutes. Continue with the last speed at one- to two-minute intervals until mixture appears to be thoroughly blended. This will fill about three 8-ounce glasses. Enjoy!
Note: Organic vegetables and fruits are recommended but not always available. Also not all brands of almond milk taste the same. The 365 Organic Almond Milk (original)available at Whole Foods was used for this recipe.
